橡胶及其制品的老化是指其在加工、贮存和使用过程中，因受外部环境因素影响和左右，会出现性能逐渐变坏，直至丧失使用价值的现象。
老化表面基本表现：龟裂、发粘、硬化、软化、粉化、变色、长霉等。
引起橡胶老化的因素有：氧、臭氧、热、光、机械应力、水分、化学介质、变价金属离子、高能辐射、电和生物等
