The ELION machines with clamping forces from 500 to 1750 kN are fully electric and entirely Netstal, since they represent the perfect synthesis of all typical characteristics of a Netstal and new, innovative features.
Each axis is laid out without compromise for its fully electric drive. Numerous customer requirements are met by the design. The result is an all-electric moulding machine which combines the traditional positive properties of a Netstal such as speed, precision, reliability, user-friendliness and efficiency with unique, novel solutions.
The ELION's application profile is primarily, but not exclusively, laid out for so-called technical mouldings. Typical applications can be found in the fields of medical technology, automotive, electronics and telecommunications.
Main features of ELION
1. The mould closing unit
The 5-point toggle lever mechanism of the mould closing unit is moved by a servo motor with gear and reaches peak speeds of more than 1.5 m/s. The very compact execution is the result of the arrangement of the mould height adjustment on the nozzle-side mould platen. A special design feature are the highly precise linear guides for the moving platen, permitting to use the tie-bars purely as tie-rods without bearing function.
Ejector
The moving mould platen of box shape is laid out for an optimal flow of the forces and minimum flexing. The 3-point crank-type ejector is integrated in the mould platen. The ejector drive impresses by a high break-away force and a fast movement.
Circular lubrication
Netstal's patented closed lubrication system for the sliding bearing bushes of the mould closing unit is an absolute novelty. This circular lubrication supplies the sealed bearing points of the toggle lever mechanism and guarantees a mould compartment free of lubricant.
2. The injection unit
The patented injection axis is also driven by a servo motor. The closed execution of the drive units on the injection side ensures low noise levels. The drive's lubrication points are encapsulated. The injection axis is offered with two different speeds (standard v=250 mm/s, fast v=450 mm/s) for the customer to select at the time of ordering.
Metering
The injection axis is offered in three different performance categories to enable a full adaptation to the customer's requirements.
Nozzle contact pressure
The nozzle is pressed against the mould centric to the injection axis so that a connection free of moments and wear is achieved between nozzle and mould.
Plasticizing
The plasticizing unit is equipped with a fast mounting system. Thanks to the special design and the pluggable interfaces for compressed air, water and electricity the plasticizing unit can be exchanged within a minimum of time.
